The Big Windmill
Picnic beneath the Big Windmill. The windmill signifies the abundant underground water which supports lush expanses of lawn, extensive flowerbeds and tree growth throughout the town. Underground water is the lifeblood of Kaniva and district supporting the diversity of farming activities in the area.

Kaniva Shoe Collection
Located upstairs in the Visitor Information Centre, This collection feature a variety of shoes from Australian legends such as Slim Dusty, Victorian Premier Steve Bracks and Kaniva born Footballers Roger Merrett and Glen Hawker.

Little Desert
A desert in name only. Over 670 species of native plants and 220 bird species have been recorded in this park. Wide open spaces and peaceful camp grounds make this park a natural treasure. Check out Broughtons Waterhole, Yanipy Nature Reserve, Moree Reserve.

Kaniva Visitor Information Centre is more than just information! Situated beneath the town's big windmill, visitors can relax in the public gardens or discover the many things the region has to offer. Upstairs houses various exhibitions, previously including photography, aboriginal & local art.

Also upstairs is the Kaniva Footwear Collection which highlights many shoes worn by famous Australians including Slim Dusty, Premier Steve Bracks, TV Celebrity Don Burke and footballers Glen Hawker and Roger Merrett.

The centre is an excellent starting point for exploring the little desert and has an extensive range of information on it. It also has an excellent range of general highway information, such as maps and City Info.

Visitors can select from an extensive range of local produce whilst also enjoying an espresso coffee in the bakery style coffee shop which is combined with the information centre itself. Other facilities include Kids Corner & Public Internet. Coaches and caravans welcome. Baby change facilities and excellent public toilets situated next to the windmill.
