First Aid — Level 2
Due to increase interest in the community wanting to do First Aid course we have been able to secure another session before the end of the year.  This is a nationally accredited course and there are no pre-requisites.  Level 2 re-fresher and CPR is also available on the same day.
Date:           Sunday 26th October
Time:           9.30am ~ 4pm for Level 2 and Refresher Level 2 and 9.30 — 1pm for CPR only. 
There may be homework required for those doing Level 2 for the first time.

Customer Service Skills
This course is perfect for anyone entering a job where customer service skills are
important.  This session will also help those already in the customer service area gain better skills to better serve their customers and improve their business.

Publisher for Beginners
This class was booked out in term 3 and will be re-run again in Term 4 if there is enough interest.Course will include how to create flyers, invitations, posters, newsletter and brochures.Suitable for beginners, though basic knowledge of computers is expected.

Job Skills
This class was run in term 3 and will be re-run again in term 4 if there is enough interest.  Communication skills, teamwork and conflict resolution are all skills that every employer would like their staff to have.  They are also great skills for everyday life.  This course will also include one session dedicated to ‘preparing for your first, or new job’.

Numeracy for Adults      
This course for adults is about applying numeracy for daily living, whether it be understanding fractional quantities in recipes, reading bus timetables or road maps.  Learn some vital skills in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.  Tutor: Donna Meyer.

English Language skills for Adults
Spelling, comprehension and expression are skills that many adults feel that they could be better at.This course for adults is about learning or re-learning skills to make using and understanding everyday English easier.Classes for individuals may be arranged.

Food Handling and Responsible Service of Alcohol
Fully accredited certificate courses,  provided by CFT YOU MAY NEED TO CONSIDER COMPLETING THE FOOD HANDLING COURSE IF YOU INTEND TO COOK REGULARLY FOR THE PURPLE STARFISH       
Food Handling Level 1 — Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures
Suitable for people working in, or looking for work in food businesses, hospitality or community health services. Cost $95.00
Food Handling Level 2 — Implement Safety Procedures (level 1 is a pre-requisite)
Suitable for supervisory level in food businesses, hospitality or community health
services. Cost $115.00
Responsible Service of Alcohol — suitable for bar and hospitality staff
These classes can be completed online or by using a manual and will take approximately 4 hours per course.  You can complete the course at home in your own time or use the  facilities at the Neighbourhood House at no extra charge.
 
Computer Familiarisation and Basic Computers
Computer familiarisation is ideal for absolute beginners with no computer knowledge.  Basic computers is ideal for gaining a basic knowledge of the functions of the
computer.  Either class will allow you to direct your computer learning to meet your
individual and immediate needs in an informal and  supportive atmosphere.

Introduction to setting up a website
This basic overview for creating a website will be looking at what is involved in setting up your own website and looks at what you need to do to be found of the web.  It is ideal for anyone who is running their own business and considering going online.
