A popular spot with locals and visitors alike. The park is an easy 350 metre stroll from the Kaniva Visitor Centre and brings you to the start of some peaceful walking tracks around the enclosed Fauna Park and the adjacent Wetlands. The walk takes approximately 40 minutes as a round trip from the Information Centre.
The Fauna Park contains Kangaroos, Wallabies, Emus, Deer, Guinea Fowl and Peacocks; while in the aviary are breeding pairs of Red-Tailed Black Cockatoos, King Parrots, Regent Parrots and Western Rosellas. The Wetlands area, where a number of native grass species grow, is home to a varying population of waders and waterbirds as well as some species of frogs. Among the trees may be Honeyeaters, Lorikeets, Red-Rumped Parrots, Eastern Rosellas, Crested Pigeons, Galahs and Corellas.
There is plenty of easy parking near the entrance, electric BBQ & toilets. So why not enjoy a picnic or BBQ as part of your visit to this interesting area run by our local Lions Club
