Kaniva & District Progress Association

Kaniva & District Progress Association meet once a month at LINK Neighbourhood house on the fourth Wednesday at 6pm.

We undertake a variety of community partnership projects and work to promote all community events, services, businesses and volunteer oportunities.

Our current project is the redevelopment of the Fauna and Wetlands Park in conjunction with Lions, Landcare and West Wimmera Shire Council. We currently have earmarked $5,000 of funds towards this. This is due for completion in June 2019. More info can be  found here. We were also successful with the Pick My Project submission for silo art at Kaniva and Serviceton. This is due for completion by February 2020.

We have several projects that we currently need assistance with:

  • Writing text for local interest spots, developing visitor information pamphlets & promotional items
  • Creating information panels for 10 local beauty spots
  • Developing partnerships and and building up local beauty spots such as walking tracks, seating, shelters, creative children's play spaces etc.
  • Town decorating team, vacant shop displays & developing Street Art ideas
  • If you would like to help with any of the above, we'd love to hear from you.

We are 100% volunteer run and rely on membership subs which are just $30 per year along with a donation from the West Wimmera Shire of $2,500. We also appreciate any support people can offer us financially to assist with projects in line with our goals.
